About Blessed and Faithful Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky
We are a Highscope curriculum-based learning center in Louisville. We care for children from 6 weeks to 13 years and provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development, right up until they are ready to join kindergarten.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on preparing children for school and beyond in a creative, engaging and supportive environment. By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms in a home-away-from-home environment, we are able to create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.
Our mission is to lead from the front in innovation in Early Childhood Education, preparing children for success at school and beyond.

Who We Are
Blessed and Faithful Learning Center was established in Louisville back in 2013 by Barbara Toogood. Barbara's ongoing passion for working with children has been the driving force behind this journey, as she views it as a true blessing to be able to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
In 2013, Barbara was on her journey as a nursing student, but she always held a dream close to her heart – the dream of creating her own childcare center. Her aspiration was not only to facilitate children's learning but also to provide parents with the precious time they needed to pursue their own dreams and aspirations.
One day, while attending church, Barbara received divine inspiration, and the name "Blessed and Faithful" was revealed to her. From that moment onward, history was in the making, and Blessed and Faithful Learning Center began its remarkable journey.
We decided to do things a bit differently at Blessed and Faithful Learning by creating a space which fosters early learning in a fun and safe environment where children from 6 weeks to 13 years can explore the world around them.
We believe our innovative approach gives our Faithful Littles a bright and positive start in life as we encourage both exploration and discovery, as well as emotional intelligence and building friendships.
About Our Louisville Location

Our setting includes:
Transportation to our center from school and home, removing the stress of drop-off from parents who need some extra support.
A computer room for our older children to enhance their problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and logical reasoning as they engage in interactive games and puzzles.
Small pets, which offer a calming presence that helps children manage stress and anxiety, enhancing their overall educational and emotional development.
The opportunity for our older learners to learn about responsibility and the wider world by giving them the choice to “clock in”, assist with small tasks and earn an allowance to collect at the end of the week!
We are able to offer a wide variety of activities, including outdoor play, music, drama and more!

Rooms
At Blessed & Faithful, all of our rooms are split by age, ensuring that our Faithful Littles receive learning opportunities that are suitable to their developmental needs. All of our rooms have low child-to-teacher ratios and are designed to provide our children with a variety of experiences that will enhance all aspects of their education.

Home Living
Our Home-Living space is crucial for fostering emotional comfort, social development, and language skills within our little learners. It provides a familiar, secure environment where children can engage in pretend play, develop problem-solving abilities, and develop empathy.
Within this space, children can explore the world of make-believe. Whether that’s hosting tea parties, stepping into the shoes of a grown-up, or becoming a chef for the day - the possibilities are endless!
Library & Reading
Within our library, children can develop a lifelong love for reading from an early age. With age-appropriate books suited to each room, this dedicated area stimulates language development, vocabulary expansion and cognitive skills.
Our library offers the opportunity for both quiet reading and social story times, nurturing both independence and social interaction.
Dramatic Play
Within our dramatic play centers, children can develop their creativity and think outside the box.
By exploring new worlds, cultures and social norms, they can mimic real-life situations and increase their social awareness, promoting the acceptance of diversity and introducing them to new experiences in an engaging, supportive environment.
Music
Through our music centers, children are encouraged to express emotion and creativity while developing their cognitive and language development, as well as their motor skills.
Exposure to a diverse music selection at a young age can increase children’s cultural awareness, reduce stress levels, and spark a lifelong passion for music!
Block Play
Block play is a great way for our Faithful Littles to develop their motor skills, spatial awareness, problem-solving, and creativity!
Blocks engage children for extended periods and are a great way to develop a child's concentration while supporting language and social development, introducing early math and science concepts, encouraging imaginative storytelling, and helping with emotional regulation.
Science
Teaching children subjects such as Science is vital, as it fosters hands-on learning, curiosity, and critical thinking while setting them up for future learning.
Through interactive experiments and activities, our little ones learn the importance of social interaction and teamwork. Our Science Centers introduce young children to STEM concepts, promote environmental awareness, and enhance language development.
Outdoor Space
Our outdoor space provides children with a place to take part in physical activities that contribute to motor skill development, coordination, and physical fitness. Our play equipment allows our children to spend time socializing outdoors, helping them to develop their social skills in a relaxed and playful environment.
At Blessed and Faithful Learning Center, we believe that exposure to the natural environment stimulates curiosity and cognitive growth while teaching children to appreciate and respect the world around them.

Merging Teaching and Childcare
We offer a variety of programs, including care and education for infants and toddlers, preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners.
Our out-of-school-hours care is available all year round and provides support to families with children up to the age of 13 years old. As our center is open until 12 am, we provide children with individual beds and an evening routine, so you can feel reassured in the knowledge that your child is receiving individualized care and attention throughout the evening.
We provide a variety of engaging opportunities for school-age children to learn valuable life skills and explore the broader world. Through educational visits to places such as the Science Center and the library, we ensure that learning extends beyond the classroom. Additionally, we instill the importance of a strong work ethic by allowing our older children to "clock in" and complete small tasks to earn an allowance. This allowance, in turn, offers them the chance to enjoy our outings to the local mall and other enriching experiences beyond the school setting.
At Blessed and Faithful Learning Center, we are proud to offer a transportation service which enables us to collect children from home or local schools and drop them off too. We are very proud of our transportation service, as it helps to relieve parents of the stress of daily transportation, reducing stress and time constraints; for children, this service can be an exciting and social part of their day, fostering friendships and a sense of routine!
